Chapter Traditions
Chapter Traditions Committee
The Chapter Traditions Committee shall be established to maintain the cherished traditions of the UNM Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma. Such traditions currently include annual participation in Hanging of the Greens and the Spring Induction Banquet; and shall be chaired by the Vice President.
Fall Frenzy
Each Fall, the UNM Chapter participates in ASUNM Community Experience's annual campus clean-up event, Fall Frenzy. As a part of this event, members work to beautify campus by raking leaves, planting flowers, laying mulch, planting trees, among other service projects.
Hanging of the Greens
On the first Friday of every December, UNM Phi Eta Sigma contributes to the University of New Mexico's longest standing tradition: the Hanging of the Greens. Members make and set-up luminarias in front of Zimmerman Library as a part of the campus-wide event.
Spring Storm
During the Spring term, UNM Phi Eta Sigma members participate in ASUNM Community Experience's annual community improvement event, which aims to increase UNM's involvement in the Albuquerque area through off-campus service projects.
New Member Induction Banquet
UNM Phi Eta Sigma celebrates and welcomes our newly inducted members and scholarship winners at our annual Induction Banquet near the end of each April. Detailed information regarding the 2023 event will be provided when available.
